Super Saturday

Oh, we got action. As Rhino, the hamster from the movie I saw Friday with my son, would say, "This is beyond awesome! It's beawesome!"

1:00 -- ACC Championship. Boston College vs. Virginia Tech. Winner goes to the FedEx Orange Bowl. Rematch of last year's game, won by VaTech. This time BC comes armed with linebackers who paint their faces as if they're in "Braveheart" and can leap over offensive linemen to get to the QB. We're picking the Eagles.

4:00 -- SEC Championship. Alabama vs. Florida. A national semifinal game. Winner goes to the FedEx BCS National Championship Game. Percy Harvin is an injury question mark. Tim Tebow is the reigning Heisman winner and playing like he wants another. Alabama's undefeated. Could be the greatest conference title game of all time. We're picking Florida, but we're not feeling beawesome about it.

4:30 -- USC vs. UCLA. If USC wins, they go to the Rose Bowl. If they lose, Oregon State goes to the Rose Bowl. Picking USC, of course, but as Jon said last week, "Don't sleep on a rivalry game."

8:00 -- Big 12 Championship. Missouri vs. Oklahoma. If Oklahoma wins, they go to the FedEx BCS National Championship Game, which would piss off Texas, who beat them. If Missouri wins, Texas goes to the FedEx BCS National Championship game, which would piss off Texas Tech, who beat them. Controversy in the Big 12, where beawesomeness is the name of the game when we're talking about the quarterbacks.

Watch it. Live it. Love it. We'll be back tomorrow (live from Vegas!) with the OFFICIAL BOWL MATCHUPS!!!!

Now, that's beawesome.

LOCKS AND SUPER LOCKS

Each player shall designate one of his 34 picks as a “Lock” and another as a “Super Lock.” Should a player correctly pick either or both of those games, against the point spread, he would be awarded bonus points as follows:

-“Lock” game: 5 bonus points

-“Super Lock” game: 10 bonus points

These bonuses pertain no matter how many points you receive for the game under the basic scoring rules. For example, if your “Lock” game is the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl, a 1-point game, and you pick it correctly, you will receive 6 points – 1 under the basic scoring rules and an additional 5 because you designated it as your “Lock.” If your “Lock” game is the FedEx Orange Bowl, a 5-point game, and you pick it correctly, you will receive 10 points – 5 under the basic scoring rules and an addition 5 because you designated it as your “Lock.”

ADDITIONAL BONUS POINTS

In addition to the basic scoring rules and the Lock/Super Lock points, a player may earn bonus points for picking many different combinations of games. These combo bonuses, which range from three points to twelve points depending on the number of games included in the combo, are detailed under the BONUSES tab above.
